North Penryn Road Widening Postponed

North Penryn Road Widening Postponed

The planned road widening project on North Penryn Road, between Stiegel Valley Road and Hickory Lane, has been postponed for at least one year.

The proposed project would:

  • Increase roadway width from the current 20–22 feet to 24 feet
  • Help prevent road edge deterioration
  • Provide wider lanes for safer vehicle passing
  • Create consistency with the rest of North Penryn Road

The project will take place within the Township right-of-way and will impact adjacent residential yards along this corridor. As part of the work, the Public Works Department will regrade and apply topsoil to affected areas. To minimize disruption, the Township plans to coordinate the widening and paving (overlay) within the same year so that yard restoration only needs to occur once.

In addition, certain drainage issues in the area must be addressed. The Township anticipates that some of this drainage work may be completed this year.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to improve local infrastructure while minimizing inconvenience to residents.

If you have any questions or concerns about this project, please contact the Penn Township office at 717-665-4508.

Thank you!
