Board of Auditors

According to state law, the township must have a board of auditors. The board’s three elected positions are vacant at this time. The board of auditors shall meet annually at the township on the day following the day designated by state law for organization of the board of supervisors (in January). The board of auditors shall determine the compensations for the current year authorized for supervisors employed by the township. Penn Township has no employed supervisors, however. Since the township hires a company to audit the township’s finances, the board of auditors has little else to do.
