Bridge Replacement – Route 772 (W. High Street) in Manheim Borough

Bridge Replacement Project to Begin on Route 772 (W. High Street) in Manheim Borough, Lancaster County
Bridge to be replaced in phases; flagging during first phase

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a bridge replacement project is scheduled to begin on Route 772 (West High Street) in Manheim Borough, Lancaster County. The bridge spans Rife Run between Meadow Lane and South Snyder Street in the borough.

This project consists of the replacement of the bridge, minor approach work and other miscellaneous construction.

Weather permitting, work will begin Tuesday, April 25. During the first phase of the project, which is expected to take about a month, traffic will be restricted on the bridge with flaggers providing traffic control during daylight hours. There will be no traffic restrictions allowed from 6:00 AM to 8:30 AM each day and from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM on Fridays only.

After that, long-term single lane restrictions will be in place with temporary traffic signals allowing alternating directions of traffic through the work zone. This traffic pattern is expected to be in place until next spring.

During the final phase of the project, there will be short-term lane restrictions under flagging for final paving and line painting. All work is expected to be completed by August 14, 2024.

Motorists should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.

JD Eckman, Inc, of Atglen, PA, is the prime contractor on this $3,527,025 project.
