Manheim Community Library To Go Program

Dear Manheim Community:

The Director and staff of the Manheim Community Library have been busy preparing to get materials in the hands of the community. “Library to Go” service will offer users the opportunity to request materials and use a contactless pick up service by appointment. The Library began accepting requests on Monday, June 29, 2020.

Once your order is received, the library staff will process the request and send an email notification with an appointment time for pick up between the hours made on the request form. We know residents are eager to see the library staff and a full service library in operation. However, the health and safety of all is important to us. The Library to Go service is the next step in moving toward that goal in the safest way possible for staff and patrons. We thank the community for their patience—and for supporting books, reading and their public library.

The library encourages users to submit requests using the online form available on our web page at https://manheimlibrary.org/library-to-go/. A second option is to call the library at 717-665-6700 between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to place the order by phone. At this time, users may only requests items owned by the Manheim Community Library and there will be no holds allowed. Please continue to check our website and Facebook page for updates as we expand services.

Library to Go services will offered at the former ambulance building located 26 East High Street. Users can park in the municipal parking lot and access services through the Wolf Street entrance marked Library to Go! Services offered are:

  • You pick” the items by searching the library catalog for Manheim Community Library owned items.
  • Library Pick” items are an alternative to searching the catalog. Individuals will answer a series of questions to identify reading interests and then submit the form online for library staff to make the selections.
  • Book return: The book drop will remain closed at this time. We encourage customers to return books they checked out before the library closed to the public during their scheduled appointment. Patrons that are not picking up materials may return items during Library to Go service hours at our offsite location in the former ambulance building.

Once again, the Manheim Community Library Director and staff wish to thank you for your understanding as we navigate the course of this new service over the next few weeks. Stay well!

Kindest regards,

Paula Collins, Director
Manheim Community Library
