On Monday the township board of supervisors approved a time extension requested for the Fruitville Pike intersection project. Contractor Farhat Excavating asked for the request due to delays that are out of the contractor’s control, such as late supply deliveries and late utility pole relocations. The project was authorized to start in January, when supplies were ordered but did not start until July when supplies were delivered. The contractor expects to pave and temporarily open by December 5, 2022, Fruitville Pike and Temperance Hill Road until May 2023. Then the roads are expected to be closed so the work may be completed. Much of the underground work has been completed, involving public sewer and storm drainage facilities and traffic signal pole foundations.
