Fruitville Pike/Temperance Hill Rd/Holly Tree Rd intersection

On December 27, 2021 the Township Board of Supervisors conditionally approved the lowest responsive and responsible $1,135,329.50 base bid and a $297,535.00 (sewer) alternate component from Farhat Excavating, LL of Duncannon, PA – for a total project cost of $1,432,864.50. The work includes installing traffic signals and capped public sewer facilities – and related improvements at the Fruitville Pike (State Route 4011), Temperance Hill Road (State Route 772), and Holly Tree Road (Township Route 566) intersections. Work is expected to begin in the Spring of 2022. Ten contractors bid on the request (see bid tally sheet). The project is partly funded by a PennDOT Multimodal Transportation Fund Grant (reimbursement) of up to $1,490,000. PennDOT participated in this project because the department considers Fruitville Pike a congested corridor.
