Community Enhancement Projects

Check out some of the exciting projects focused on improving our community and public facilities, ranging from energy to walkability and much more...

Doe Run Road - Penryn Road Street Improvements

The improvements at the intersection of Doe Run Road and Penryn Road are under construction.  The improvements required relocation of utility poles and include installation of storm drainage, a public water main, a new traffic signal to accommodate new left-turn lanes, curb and sidewalk. A center left-turn lane will be added between Doe Run Road and Stiegel Valley Road at North Penryn Road.  The construction will generally occur on Doe Run Road from the Two Cousins Restaurant to the Doe Run Elementary School.  Work on Penryn Road will occur from the bottom of the hill (Kreider fields, beginning of residents) on South Penryn Road to Brandt Street on North Penryn Road. Work is expected to be completed by November 2016.  If you have questions, please contact Mark Hiester at the Township Office.

Doe Run Road Water Treatment Facility Sustainability Project
The site of the Northwestern Lancaster County Authority's Water Treatment Facility is also part of a larger sustainability demonstration and education project.  In addition to the solar panel array located there, green infrastructure improvements have been constructed to enhance water quality and to provide a learning experience for everyone to take advantage of.
